Dear Brainerd Church,
It is hard to believe that the last time we met together was March 8. We all feel the disappointment of missing gathering together, Easter, meals together and Celebrating together the Lord’s Supper. We know this is a strange time and we have had to adapt to find new ways to do those things we have always done without thinking. We mourn with those who have lost their lives, a family member or a business. We also feel great pain for our country and for our brothers and sisters who are slighted, abused, and killed because of the color of their skin. Lord, in Your mercy save us!
However, today I also have good news! We are planning to re-open on July 5 for worship. We have some work to do to make everything ready and receive permission from the district office, but we are confident we can complete our work. Our greatest task is communicating with you our plans and procedures for re-opening. So I wanted to just give you a list with a brief explanation of what you need to know. I am also sharing the link to the conference procedures that we are following. Here is the list in no particular order:
Facemasks are to be worn at all times in the building
We will have some pews and portions of some pews closed
Hand sanitizer will be placed at strategic locations for your use
Available entrances will be front doors, portico, choir hall and office door
Attendance will be taken before you enter the building
We will practice social distancing
No congregational singing
Offering plates will be at the back of the sanctuary
No pressure to attend as we will still be doing Facebook Live and Youtube
Orderly dismissal from your pews
For some of you this may seem “overkill” and for others this seems reasonable, however our goal is to keep everyone safe. We have a responsibility to each other to keep each other safe.
You will hear much more about this in the coming days, but I wanted to give you this initial list to let you know what we are going to be doing. If you have questions, concerns or think we have forgotten something, let me know ASAP.
Blessings to you all and know that this building is lonely without you!
