Girls Inc. of Chattanooga partners with Brainerd United Methodist Church by providing after-school and school break programs in the 3rd floor classrooms. Girls and families from schools such as Chattanooga School for the Arts (CSA), Brainerd High School, CSAS, Chattanooga Charter School, Woodmore Elementary, and Hardy Elementary enjoy the supportive atmosphere of the church facilities. Fall Break Camp recently concluded with a presentation from the girls about what they learned. The emphasis of the camp was College Bound, and the girls, from K- 12, learned about college requirements, living with roommates, and preparing resumes.
Programming includes research-based and outcome-focused Girls Inc. national curricula as well as locally relevant and locally designed educational programming. Curricula is rotated each semester and each year so that girls participating always enjoy new programming and learn new things. The girls also develop skills built around the Girls Inc. Experience, such as college and career exploration, leadership, life skills, women’s history, community service projects, character education, conflict resolution, public speaking, art, physical fitness, homework help and academic enrichment
